i think im right in saying Williams will become the oldest winner since ray reardon many moons ago.
in those days pot black was on the box on our black and white tv which wasn’t helpful and kirk stephens was probably the youngest playing about 1979-80- ish, the rest were pretty old.
it was so dull then, likes of perry mans, cliff thorburn, john spencer etc would struggle to finish a frame in the 30 minute tv slot.
love to see them playing in the 30 second shootout 1 frame format.
