MY headline tip won on Sunday but my other three at Kelso were losers.

SNAFFLED (4.35) is an interesting runner at Wolverhampton on Monday. Owner John Fretwell loves a tilt at the betting ring and Snaffled was campaigned over trips of up to a mile, which he didn't appear to stay, probably with a view to obtaining a workable handicap rating.
Sure enough, Snaffled was dropped back to five furlongs when given a mark of 62 and he ran very well in defeat at Southwell. Now tried over six furlongs. Snaffled can carry Fretwell's familiar lime green silks into the winner's enclosure under Sean Levey.
Market leader Oneroa has twice acquitted herself well at Wolverhampton and drops a furlong after chasing home 25-1 shot Elixsoft.
RAISED ON GRAZEON (1.45) has been brought along steadily by John Quinn and she looks equipped to make a winning handicap debut at Ayr.
As always, the track will be riding bottomless and Raised On Grazeon, runner-up to Sam Spinner in a bumper, coped well enough with soft ground at Catterick on New Year’s Day when landing a novice hurdle. Raised On Grazeon also ran well when second at Musselburgh on her previous start and seems to be progressive.
Well done to all the winners on Sunday and let's hear your thoughts for Monday.

I like casual cavalier to beat sky to the stars also.
Has beaten sky to the stars twice before, weight difference evens things up a bit but he had a nice pipe opener in a class higher behind Gino trial so you can put a line through that run.

Might just look for a match bet though as both are high in the weights and something on a low mark could win in the potentially desperate ground.

Raised on grazeon looks good in the 1-45 on form and I’ve had a little ew on presenting rose also in this race at 14-1.

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

Well a rag did win the 3-25 and my match bet was a winner.
Ew shot finished last of 6 finishers so one step forward one step back.
Well done any winners and losers for that matter as the more tips the merrier..

8 weeks until Cheltenham now, are John b and Alan starting a dossier here for ante post tips.
      Would be most welcome.
      Cheers

Work is underway to identify the nine thoroughbred racehorses that were sent to the kill pens in Louisiana, but it has been confirmed that some of these horses have raced in the last ten days, it’s disgusting that this has happened, that it’s been allowed to happen and all guilty parties whether owners or trainers have to be banned from the sport for life

    • Johnb 6 years ago

Another two thoroughbred horses have been saved bringing the total to eleven, They are now called The Louisiana Eleven

The Louisiana Eleven are eleven thoroughbred horses that were sent to the kill pens and were only a few hours away from being sent to Mexico to be slaughtered for meat
Of the eleven horses the youngest has just turned 2yo and the eldest is 6yo
Some are quite nervous, one has a cut to the head and another has an untreated cut to the shoulder, some still had their racing shoes on and one has whip marks on her back

    • kirantotti365 6 years ago

how much money they make by doing such shit things john.

    • Johnb 6 years ago

It can’t be a lot as they were bought back for $935 each

A mention has to go to American Pharoah owner Ahmed Zayat, owner Rich zpapiese and trainer Graham Motion who helped pay as well as people world wide

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Has there been any press coverage of this – surely over there it’s a big story.

    • Johnb 6 years ago

No, they are still trying to get the press involved and I keep tagging people to raise awareness but so far only jockey Racheal Kneller has responded.
Been trying to get At The Races, Racing Post, ITV Racing involved but still early

The vast majority of horses in kill pens are Wild Horses, sadly these horses don’t make as good a story as your Thoroughbred Racehorse, there are a lot of good people out there that are saving these horses daily but every time some of these horses are saved they are replaced by more that have been rounded up
Congress reps are changing their minds about America’s Wild Horses and Burros and now only need about 15 more to support the horses to get the bill changed, which would see no more round ups by the BLM “Bureau of Land Management”

These eleven thoroughbreds will be a big story as it will remind people of Tubby Time a few years ago when one horse got the attention of a nation
Tubby Time was a horse of the year, he won nearly $300,000 on the track but was thrown away like trash when he was of no more use, he himself was saved for a few hundred dollars

    Tubby Time
    Sire: Devil His Due
    Dam: Gentle Princess, by Tejano
    Foal date: April 23, 2006
Earnings: $263,515 in 35 starts and a multiple stakes winner

i wish i could have brought her

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

I’ve just seen an exhibition of rubbish jockeymanship on frontiersman.
He had the best horse by far under him, pace wasn’t breakneck, yet he let the horse amble along in about 6th on the inside rail then approaching the final bend finally switches the horse out but the front 2 had kicked on by then and it was too late.
Think it was complacency at best but certainly a black Mark for the pilot for me.

    • recoba 6 years ago

      Aye Elvis it was shite!
Mincing about at the back for no reason the horse was dying to go?
Has 2x singles and a double with Alan’s so no harm but that was foul!

  13. normanstanleyfletcher 6 years ago

Nice one Alan in the 4.35 Wolves

  14. fraser51 6 years ago

6:40 wolves looks a really good race, I think watersmeet with the allowance and good in this distance/surface can test frontiersman

    Skybet paying 4 places, 7/1

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

      Good shout Fraser.
Frontiersmans jockey sealed the deal with that shocking ride.
Can’t fault watersmeet though, he did what he had to do and deserved the win.
      Well done…..

    • fraser51 6 years ago

Pleased with that, Frontiersman best horse in the field but was making hard work of it when asked to press and the front two were already gone. Watersmeet battled very well to get the win, love when a horse digs in like that.

7/1, nice start to the week.
