MADROOS (3.25) makes his all-weather debut at Wolverhampton and Mick Easterby has found him a good opening to snap a frustrating run of placed efforts.

Globe-trotting Watson, formerly assistant to William Haggas following educational spells in New Zealand, America and South Africa, has made a bright start to his training career in Berkshire and this looks a suitable opportunity for Snowy Winter.
Course and distance winner Diamonds A Dancing stayed on strongly under today’s jockey to score on the Pro-Am lady riders’ fixture at Carlisle. Runner-up Omotesando and fourth horse Thorntoun Care have won since and the top weight should go well.
This evening’s Catterick card is opened by another amateur riders’ event and PETE SO HIGH (5.30) is taken to follow up his recent Ripon success.
Richard Hannon’s three-year-old was running all over his rivals down the straight and hit the front over two out. Pete So High tended to idle in front and hadn’t a lot to spare over Zack Mayo at the line. Hannon runs him under a fixed penalty and Alex Ferguson will probably attempt to deliver his challenge a little later.
