KAWASIR (3.55) could upset the odds-on favourite in the 1m novice stakes at Lingfield.

Roger Varian’s colt made a very encouraging introduction at Kempton last October when third to odds-on Glendevon and Moqarrar.

The runner-up scored next time at Newcastle with another Varian runner, Qianlong, almost five lengths adrift in third. Qianlong is rated 80, so that gives Kawasir a theoretical mark of around 90 which would make him very competitive in an average novice stakes.

Favourite Ostilio has had a wind op since chasing home Kings Shield at Newcastle and it will be interesting to see how the betting sorts it out.

WOLF OF WINDLESHAM (5.00) returns from a lengthy absence in the 2m handicap and, again, one eye must be kept on the betting.

If anything like the horse he was over hurdles, Wolf Of Windlesham would beat this lot. He hasn’t seen a racetrack in public since finishing in midfield behind Brain Power in a Grade 3 hurdle at Ascot. He finished runner-up to Beltor over two miles on the Flat at Kempton in 2016.

THE JUNGLE VIP (3.25) failed to sparkle over seven furlongs at Southwell but ran better in a Class 5 novice stakes over today’s distance of 1m 2f at Chelmsford City. This is a good deal easier.

It was a profitable day on Monday for Johnb with a 4-1 winner with Seven Clans and the ew nap Forever Gold placing at 25-1 in the Irish National. His Tuesday tips have been added.

would have thought with the quality of tipsters on here that is very strange !!!!

There was only one meeting spursy.
      All weather, low grade rubbish.
These horses are on all weather because they are unreliable, and can’t be trusted to run to form if you call it form, or as I realised over time it may not be their TURN to win if you get my drift.
Guess what, 3 all weather meetings tomorrow, and catterick where you will need to look down the card to find nags that may not be the best in the race, but go on heavy.
At least there is some reasonable racing in leopardstown where the horses are there to win and not just there to run reservedly and get their handicap down.

I quite like onenightidreamed in the 5-30 at 6-1 each way, he ran quite well in the Irish Lincoln and was a close up 3rd in this last year when favourite.
He won in heavy here 2 years ago.

He needs to reverse placings with Brendan bracken (just under 2 lengths) on cork form last October, on soft, so let’s hope the forecast rain arrives tonight.
May look for a match bet on these 2 if its over evens.

Elvis, see Ruby Walsh has given his views on the Elliott / Mullins monopolisation of Irish jumps in his column for Racing UK.

      What did he say

  11. cobretti 6 years ago

Compares it to Aidan O’Brien 10-15 years ago when people were saying the same about him dominating the sport but actually he’s made flat racing stronger. Ruby says trainers like Oxx, Weld and Bolger all had to up their game and he brought a whole generation on young trainers with him which in turn benefited Irish flat racing.
    Interesting points.

Like all great empires they become consumed by glory, become too greedy, overstretch there limitations, and eventually implode from within.
Elliot is this strong now because Mullins got greedy, put his fees up and owners moved their horses to Elliot.
Hopefully eventually owners will realise that there are other fish in the sea who are just as capable and with better horses, then their facilities will improve with them and they will grow.
Here, Skelton, fry, Ollie Murphy, Archie Watson etc are off shoots of big stables who have learned their trade inside big yards and are starting to prove there is lots of talent out there if they are given the chance.
