I'M hoping to profit from two ball betting at The Open and starting with one of my outright picks.
Rickie Fowler has just had four good days at Gullane to get him in links-mode. The American has a great links pedigree but Jon Rahm is no slouch and although he has a poor links record you can never discount the Spaniard.
I expect Fowler to play well this week and hopefully he will get off to a great start on Thursday. As I said a hard one to pick but I’m going with the American this time.
Note: I thought this was a first-round fantasy two ball but they go out together so it's actually a tournament match bet. Sorry for the confusion.
I have though added a three ball tip and I'm taking Matthew Southgate to beat Erik van Rooyen and Brady Schnell.
Southgate is in decent form and has a good Open record. On top of that he knows Carnoustie well as he's a member. Shouldn't have to worry about Schnell while Van Rooyen missed the Scottish Open cut after leading the Irish Open after three rounds but falling away badly on the final day.

I can’t find the option for 1st Round 2 Balls on Paddy Powers website..
I can find the 3 balls option but that includes Spieth as well as Fowler and Rahm.
And then there is one underneath for Fowler vs Rahm but that says Tournament Match Bets, isn’t that for the whole day not just Round 1? That is 5/6..

Looked on their golf rules and it says that Tournament Match Bets cover the whole tournament so not just Day One, and that’s the only place I can find Fowler vs Rahm..
Click on golf, tournaments, matches and then the 2 balls are right at the bottom, then scroll up till you see Fowler/Rahm
Yeah i’ve done that and can see Fowler/Rahm but it says ‘Tournament Match Bets’ above all the 2 ball options..
I’ve read their golf rules and it says that Tournament Match Bets run for the entire tournament, not just the first round.
I’ll check with Ace. He’s posted it as a mythical 2 ball but as you say a tournament match bet is different.
Re Aces’s Fowler bet it is for the tournament – he misread it (I blame age and fading eyesight).
He’s added a three ball tip that looks good to me.
